Laboratory Manager

James joined IOTA NanoSolutions in June 2005 and has played a significant role in the expansion of the IOTA NanoSolutions technology platform. Prior to starting at IOTA NanoSolutions, James completed a post doctoral role at the University of Liverpool which involved synthesis of organic and inorganic nanoparticles in supercritical fluids. James gained a Ph.D in Chemistry from John Moores University, Liverpool, in 2004 following a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from the Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in 2000.

Dr. Tom Wang
Dr Tom Wang
Laboratory Manager

Tom joined IOTA NanoSolutions in August 2005 and has had a large involvement in the expansion of the suite of IOTA technologies. Before joining IOTA NanoSolutions, Tom completed a post doctoral role at the University of Liverpool, where he was sponsored by Unilever to develop the IOTA NanoSolutions platform technologies. Tom gained a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry, from the University of Manchester in June 2004. In 2000, he obtained a B.Eng. in Polymer Science & Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnic University, China and gained an M.Eng. in Material Science & Engineering from the same institute.

Research Scientists

Doris Angus
Doris Angus
Senior Scientist

Doris joined IOTA NanoSolutions in 2005. Immediately prior to joining the company she was a Research Assistant at Unilever for two years where she helped develop the IOTA NanoSolutions technology. Doris obtained an H.N.C. in Chemistry from Liverpool Polytechnic (now Liverpool John Moores University). Doris has vast experience in a range of analytical techniques mainly gained at the university of Liverpool and her previous employment has also included quality control analysis at SmartWater Europe, Birkenhead and chemical development at Contract Chemicals, Prescot.

Dr Lynn Power
Dr Lynn Power
Senior Scientist

Lynn joined IOTA NanoSolutions in 2009. Immediately prior to joining IOTA NanoSolutions, she completed a six-month post doctoral position at the MSSI, University of Limerick, Ireland, which involved the preparation and characterisation of novel nanoparticles and nanostructures from transition metal oxides. In 2004, Lynn undertook a PhD at University of St. Andrews, Scotland, following her graduation with a first class B.Sc. (Single Hons.) in Chemistry from NUI Maynooth, Ireland, in 2004.

Yongwei Liao
Yongwei Liao
Scientist

Yongwei joined the IOTA NanoSolutions team in September 2008. Prior to this, Yongwei worked in Research and Development Departments at both Jacobi Carbon International and InyX Pharma where she was involved in the analysis of validation samples to GLP/GMP standards. Yongwei graduated from Southwest China Normal University with a B.Sc. in Chemistry. She later gained an M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry from the Second Military Medical University in China where she also taught organic chemistry and conducted research on catalytic asymmetric reactions and synthesis of bioactive compounds.
