IOTA NanoSolutions Limited is currently majority owned by Unilever Ventures, a venture capital firm providing funding and management skills to start-up and early stage businesses. Unilever Ventures has helped IOTA NanoSolutions to create a technology-led "spin out" built upon the development and exploitation of technology that has emerged from the University of Liverpool and developed by Unilever's leading research divisions.

Although Unilever Ventures is the majority shareholder in IOTA NanoSolutions, it is committed to the independent growth and development of IOTA NanoSolutions as a stand alone company and independent business. Minority stakes in the company are also owned by the founder Directors and the University of Liverpool.

It is anticipated that IOTA NanoSolutions will seek external 3rd Party Equity funding in the medium term.
