Double award success for IOTA NanoSolutions Ltd

We are delighted to announce that further to winning the coveted NWDA’s “Science and Technology Business of the Year” Award at the Liverpool Daily Post’s Regional Business Awards last week, IOTA NanoSolutions Limited has followed this success by winning the “Merseyside Innovation Award 2007” for its proprietary organic nano-particulate formation technology.
The Innovation Awards which took place yesterday at Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza were in recognition of the achievement of inventions that show cutting edge innovation. IOTA NanoSolutions was selected as the winner from four finalists and was awarded a cash prize of £10,000 and £4000 worth of business consultancy.
Originating from a collaboration between Unilever and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, IOTA NanoSolutions specialises in the enhanced formulation of insoluble compounds for next generation products. The unique properties of the IOTA NanoSolutions materials means that they can be used in many different industry applications including Agrochemicals, Biocides, Cosmetics, Flavours and Fragrances, Nutraceutical and Pharmaceutical markets. IOTA NanoSolutions, with laboratories within the MerseyBio Incubator, has begun collaborative work with a wide range of globally significant partners in these sectors which impressed the judges considerably.
The final judging panel at the Innovation Awards included Jeremy Scudamore, (Northwest Science Council), Janet Ashworth, (Head of Technology Sector Group, Royal Bank of Scotland/Natwest) and Steve Morgan, (Bridgemere Group of Companies). Chair of the judging panel, Brian McCann, of Vanguard Chartered Accountants, said “All of the sponsors and judges on the independent panel are extremely excited at the potential of the breakthrough that IOTA NanoSolutions has made. We look forward to watching the company grow as it takes the technology further and generates even more success.”
