IOTA NanoSolutions Ltd Appoints Business Development Director

16 April 09

The Board of IOTA NanoSolutions Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Young as Business Development Director of the company.

Christopher is responsible for business development in the Pharmaceutical and Animal Health sectors and brings to IOTA NanoSolutions a broad range of sector experience having held senior roles in international sales, marketing and purchasing.

Immediately prior to joining IOTA NanoSolutions Christopher held the position of Pharmaceutical Business Unit Manager at IMCD UK Limited (the former bp Chemical subsidiary Honeywill & Stein Limited), a leading global distributor of specialty chemicals and functional ingredients. He also held other senior positions within IMCD including European Marketing Manager of the Group’s chemical synthesis business, European Product Manager of a portfolio of specialty chemicals, and General Manager of IMCD’s branch office in India.

Christopher commented “I am delighted to join IOTA NanoSolutions, the company’s technology is innovative and offers many possibilities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space. Insolubility of the active ingredient poses significant challenges during formulation owing to its impact on the rate of drug absorption into the body. ContraSol™ offers the possibility to enhance existing products on the market, new drugs currently in development, and to revive candidates that have been previously overlooked due to solubility issues”.

Andrew Elphick, CEO of IOTA NanoSolutions added “We are extremely pleased to have Christopher join the IOTA NanoSolutions team. His extensive experience of sales and marketing to the pharmaceutical sector will help accelerate our strategic thrust into this key market”.
